Having received his law degree from the University of Uruguay (2005) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from New York University (NYU, 2008), Mr. Preve has an extensive experience in corporate legal advice and in international transactions. He worked at important law firms in Uruguay and Argentina and he served as in-house legal consultant at the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Group) in Washington, D.C. during 2009 and 2010, where he participated at the drafting, closing and supervision of financing deals to private sector firms in Latin America and the Caribbean.

He has been retained as external legal consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank and the Latin-American Integration Association (ALADI) on legal issues such as international trade in services, foreign direct investment and specific sector regulations in Uruguay on international trade, infrastructure and renewable energies, among others.

He acts as legal advisor to national and international companies in corporate, regulatory and litigation issues in Uruguay. He has been legal advisor to financial institutions in Uruguay and abroad and during his professional career he has interacted with law firms from across the majority of the Latin American countries, the United States and Europe.

He has held conferences on matters of his expertise and has participated as assistant professor at the courses of International Integration Law (University of Montevideo, 2006) and as assistant professor of International Trade Regulation at the Uruguayan Customs Agents Association.

He is a member of the Uruguayan Bar Association and of the American Society of International Law. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish (native).
